What this site is
Sheds.ie is a neutral, Irish-based information hub for garden sheds: buyer's guides, planning rules, supplier checks and a free multi-quote form. It exists because every other site that ranks for "garden shed Ireland" is a supplier trying to sell you their shed. There is currently no neutral information layer in this market. We are it.
What this site isn't
We don't make sheds. We don't sell sheds. We don't rebadge other peoples' sheds. We don't have a single warehouse, supplier yard, or piece of timber to our name. The conflict-of-interest pressure that bends every other site in this niche doesn't apply here, and the editorial decisions reflect that. We publish the prices, name the warranties, flag the failure modes.
Our editorial line
Three rules:
- Numbers we can stand over. Every figure is dated and sourced. No "from" prices. If we don't know, we say we don't know.
- Checked entries, no rankings. Every business we name was checked as trading when it was listed. We don't rank or endorse suppliers, and we don't list defunct suppliers or drop-shippers.
- Honest weaknesses. Where steel beats timber, we say steel. Where a warranty is largely a marketing number, we say so. Where a supplier won't quote a spec in writing, we say so.
Where the data comes from
Pricing data is sense-checked against the published 2026 prices on Steeltech, Adman, Sheds Direct Ireland, Timbertrove, Garden Sheds 4 Less and MCD Garden Sheds. Planning rules are sourced from Citizens Information, planningcheck.ie and the local-authority FAQs. Foundation guidance leans on practical Irish ground-condition experience and the supplier-published base guides. Sources are linked at the foot of each article.
